Fly in safari (game package safaris)
A fly-in safari makes use of light aircraft to transfer you between locations within a safari destination, saving you time moving between attractions so that you can see and do more on your vacation.
There are several small airstrips within each national park that service different camps and lodges in that area. often a flight will stop at many airstrips on route in order to take guests to where they need to be. Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda have numerous aviation companies to choose from with excellent scheduled routes linking almost all the national parks you may want to visit. If you choose this option, you will be on a game package basis at the lodge or camp, meaning activities are included within the rate and the camp will organise their activities and use their own guides and vehicles. These activities will be shared with other guests, unless they pre-book and pay for a private vehicle.
The best thing about flying from location to location – aside from the advantages of getting from point a to point b quickly and efficiently – is that you gain an aerial overview of the landscapes you will explore on the ground.
S fly-in safari is also perfect for travellers who only have a few days to see the wild. you can see and do everything in a short break of three or four days. Expect spectacular panoramas and the benefit of a better understanding of the wilderness you journey through – when your guide mentions the mountains that border the area, or the vastness of the plains, your aerial viewpoint gives you the full picture.

Cultural safaris experience and activities
Cultural tours are a popular product in Tanzania that is mostly sold as an additional to enrich main safari tour programs. Most cultural tour sites in mainland Tanzania were developed by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) in combination with the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV), starting with selected villages around Arusha in northern Tanzania and spreading out into other areas. These are traditionally existing villages which have been made accessible to visitors who may have a glimpse of the authentic lifestyle of the more than 130 tribes in rural Tanzania.
Involve yourself in the Tanzanian culture
Visits to Maasai Bomas / villages in Ngorongoro Highlands
Maasai culture experiences:
For anyone looking for authentic cultural experience. While many visitors to Africa are familiar with the Maasai at Ngorongoro conservation area authority, the Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group of semi-nomadic people living in northern Tanzania and Kenya, and they are the only group allowed free travel over the border. The Maasai reside near many game parks and their dress is very distinctive. Consequently, they are probably the most well-known African ethnic group in the world.
The Maasai culture is intricate and fascinating. roles are determined by age, wealth and position in the community. Men are warriors and herders, and cattle play a central role in their lives. the more cattle, the wealthier the warrior and his wealth then enables him to take multiple wives. Herds are large and warriors constantly wander on the mountain and surrounding plains seeking pasture for their animals – often camping out. The most important person in Maasai culture is the medicine man. The nomadic healers move between villages and as well as providing remedies for the sick or injured, they make predictions.
If your safari includes the Serengeti, you will stop to visit a Maasai boma on your way.
Lake Eyasi Village (Hadzabe and Datoga tribes)
The Dadzabe and Datoga tribes living in the Lake Eyasi region are no less fascinating. The hadzabe are one of the last tribes to stay true to their tribal history, purely living off hunting (making use of locally made poisons and ingenious camouflage) and what nature provides them. Their language, a distinctive tongue of click, is similar to that of the famous bushmen. The datoga live near the hadzabe and supply for honey and fruits. an insightful and fascinating trip to learn just how these tribes have survived in the sometimes harsh Tanzania wilderness for thousands of years
